My name is Serena Medrano, I am a 2020 Ronald Reagan High School graduate. Coming into High School I knew I would already join sports and art programs. I've always been dedicated to running cross country and playing soccer since I was five years old. My sophomore year I joined wrestling and made that another passion of mine. Since a young age I have been interested in visual arts whether it be creating or reading about art. My whole life I grew up around my mother and uncle always creating paintings and teaching me new techniques. Their inspirations and influences made me really interested in reading about Salvador Dali and Pablo Picasso. Although, in my Sophomore art class I fell in love recreating Impressionism paintings, like Edgar Degas The Blue Dancers.
Impressionism paintings made me realize paying attention to detail is very important. Just like in interior design, the detail of where objects are placed is important. Recently my interest for careers shifted over to a possible architect and interior designer. Being apart of the visual arts program I will be able to figure out if those careers suit me or if new interests arise. |
